I Resign as Chairman of The Nippon Foundation, Appreciating Your Support and Cooperation Over Past Two Decades

Published on June 24, 2025
Effective on June 20, I resigned as chairman of The Nippon Foundation after 20 years at the helm of the organization. I have assumed the role of Honorary Chair.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for all your support and cooperation over the past two decades.

I have been succeeded by Mr. Takeju Ogata, 80, who has served as president since July 2005.

I will devote the rest of my life to working as hard as I can as a “foot soldier” to help achieve the mission of The Nippon Foundation under the leadership of the new chairman.

I look forward to engaging with you on the next blog and beyond.
