【Photo Diary】 (5) Visit to Geneva for the 76th World Health Assembly

I would like to share with you some of the photographs taken during my visit to Geneva, Switzerland, from May 21 to 28, 2023, to attend the 76h World Health Assembly－the WHO’s decision-making body－in my capacity as chairman of The Nippon Foundation and WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Leprosy Elimination.

With WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus with a T-shirt he presented me with in celebration of WHO’s 75th anniversary on April 7, 2023, or World Health Day.
With Dr. Tedros declaring an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency in early May (though stressing that it does not mean the disease is no longer a global threat), I expressed my determination to redouble my efforts for a zero-leprosy world.
