【Photo Diary】 (4) Visit to Tunisia and Ethiopia

Published on September 14, 2022

I would like to share with you some of the photographs taken during my visit to Tunisia and Ethiopia between August 25 and September 4, 2022.

[August 31, Gubata Arjo Kebele and Turga Galo Kebele, Ethiopia]

A view en route from Hosaena to Gubata Arjo Kebele.

A farming project undertaken by the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) in Gubata Arjo Kebele. This is a vegetable garden equipped with an irrigation tank.

An ingenious way to store harvested vegetables.

Being interviewed by local media.

Examining a newly-developed variety of corn.

Moving on to Turga Galo Kebele to inspect another project being undertaken by SAA, I am given a traditional welcome.

Being briefed on the annual farming timetable.

Taking a tractor for a ride.

SAA Chair Ruth Oniang’o gives me a helping hand during a ceremony to cut Difo Dabo, a traditional Ethiopian bread for welcoming guests.

Trying on with a special jacket as SAA Chair Oniang’o (left) looks on approvingly.
